Pertemps’ Samantha Earl wins Young Leader Award

Our very own Samantha Earl, General Manager at Pertemps Driver Training and Gloucester Recruitment, has won the Young Leader Award at The Business Desk’s Midlands Leadership Awards.

The cream of the region’s leaders were celebrated by their peers in front of 200 business leaders at the Edgbaston Stadium.

Samantha won the Young Leader Award which recognises leaders who have delivered positive change and a real difference in their organisation.

Samantha said: “I’m extremely honoured and still in shock to have won such a prestigious award. My passion is most definitely my people and I hope to keep inspiring them to reach their full potential.

We have come a long way since starting the driver training business - but we must keep going and continue to provide our clients, candidates and training delegates across both recruitment and training the best service possible. I am in an extremely lucky position where Pertemps fully support me and my team to achieve great things. Without the business’s backing, none of it would be possible.”

Since her early twenties, Samantha has dedicated herself to Pertemps and embodies the spirit and ethos of the business. She has carved herself a 14-year career within logistics and was elated when she took on the role as a branch manager at only 22 years of age. After proving herself in that role she began to use her entrepreneurial prowess to create something truly unique with Pertemps Driver Training and Academy and is now manages a team of 25.

She had a huge part to play in the development of the Pertemps Driving Academy, an investment programme to build the next generation of LGV professional drivers through licence acquisition, to work towards helping to provide a solution to the national driver shortage. As well as being a hard worker, she is an inspiration to her team, going above and beyond to support them.

Alex Turner, joint-managing director of TheBusinessDesk.com said: “We created the Midlands Leadership Awards to celebrate the people and organisations across the region who are role models for their teams and raise the bar for their competitors.

“Our winners and shortlisted have showcased the best qualities of modern leadership – of inspiration, collaboration and empowerment – and these awards have been a true celebration of the transformational impact great leaders are having in our region here and now.”

Pertemps were also sponsors of the Company Leader (up to 100 employees) Award.

Other winners of different categories include leaders from the University of Birmingham, Mills & Reeve and NEC Group Arenas.

Congratulations Samantha!
